BASIC OPERATION<\/span><\/h2>\n

Adjust the eyecups<\/span><\/h3>\n

The eyecups on a RaptorTM binocular twist up and down so any<\/span>
\nviewer can see the full field and enjoy comfortable viewing\u2014with<\/span>
\nor without eyeglasses.<\/span><\/p>\n

Adjust the interpupillary distance<\/span><\/h3>\n

The interpupillary distance (IPD) is the distance between the centers<\/span>
\nof the left and right eye pupils. Match the IPD of your eyes to that of<\/span>
\nthe binocular so that you see a single image that is free of shading.<\/span><\/p>\n

Properly focus the binocular<\/span><\/h3>\n

For the best views, follow this two-step process to properly adjust<\/span>
\nthe center focus and diopter. Choose an object that is about 20<\/span>
\nyards away from you and stay in the same spot until you have<\/span>
\nadjusted the binocular for your eyes.<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Adjust the center focus\u2014start by closing your right eye<\/span>
\nor covering the right objective lens<\/span>
\nwith your hand. Focus your left eye<\/span>
\non the object and adjust the center<\/span>
\nfocus wheel until the image is in focus.<\/span>
\nLeave the center focus in this position<\/span>
\nas you adjust the diopter.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Adjust the diopter\u2014start by closing your left eye or covering<\/span>
\nthe left objective lens with your hand.<\/span>
\nLook through your right eye and adjust<\/span>
\nthe diopter ring (found on the right<\/span>
\neyepiece) until the object is in focus.<\/span>
\nMake note of this diopter setting in<\/span>
\ncase you need to set it again. From this point on, you will only<\/span>
\nneed to use the center focus wheel.<\/span><\/p>\n

ACCESSORIES<\/span><\/h2>\n

Carry Case<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Raptor\u2019s protective case provides safe storage between viewing<\/span>
\nsessions. The carry strap is already attached to the case. <\/span><\/p>\n

Lens Covers<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Raptor comes with a rainguard for the ocular lenses and<\/span>
\ntethered objective lens covers. Use these covers to protect the<\/span>
\nlenses whenever you are not viewing.<\/span><\/p>\n

Neckstrap<\/span><\/h3>\n

Attach the padded neckstrap to the Raptor in three simple steps.<\/span>
\nBegin with the right barrel of the binocular and repeat the process<\/span>
\nfor the left barrel.<\/span><\/p>\n

Note<\/strong>: If using another type of strap, never attach metal o-rings directly<\/span>
\nonto the strap attachment.<\/span><\/p>\n

LENS CARE<\/span><\/h2>\n

Maintain the optical brilliance of the Raptor binocular by keeping<\/span>
\nlens surfaces free of dirt, oils, and dust.<\/span>
\nProtect lenses while out in the field<\/span>
\nMake use of the provided eyepiece and objective lens covers to<\/span>
\nprotect the lenses when not viewing. Then, store the Raptor in its<\/span>
\ncarry case between viewing sessions.<\/span>
\nKeep lenses clean<\/span>
\nIn order to enjoy the best views through your Raptor binocular, take<\/span>
\ntime to regularly clean the exterior lenses:<\/span>
\n1. Remove any dust or grit from lenses before wiping. Use a can<\/span>
\nof pressurized air, soft camel hair brush, or an acrylic optical brush.<\/span>
\n2. Clear lenses of smudges, fingerprints, or eyelash oil. Fog the<\/span>
\nlenses with your own breath, then use a non-abrasive lens cloth to<\/span>
\nclean the lenses.<\/span><\/p>\n
