The competition on the market of premium tactical scopes just heightened. Vortex Razor HD Gen III 6-36×56 FFP is the newest addition to the third iteration of the highly-successful Razor scope series. It will go against Zero Compromise Optic 8-40×56 and Schmidt & Bender 6-36×56 PM II for the top long-range tactical scope of 2022.
Rugged build
- 34-millimeter tube
- lightweight, aircraft-grade aluminum
- IPX7 rating
- hard recoil-proofed
- adjustable parallax ➞ 10 yards – ∞
This tactical scope is built around a 34mm aluminum tube for maximum turret travel. The surface is coated in ArmorTek varnish that protects it from mild scratches, oil, and dirt. The rugged construction is waterproofed with Argon filling and can withstand harsh recoil.
Magnification
Close and far-away targets won’t be an issue thanks to the 6x-36x magnification range. Fast changes can be done with the help of the Vortex SV-5 throw lever that is included in the package. The image stays sharp with the side focus from 10 yards to infinity.
Turrets
- lockable W&E turrets
- elevation turret with turn indicator
- precise zeroing
Exposed, locking turrets move 120 MOA up/down and 52.5 MOA left/right. Click values depend on the model variant – 1/4 MOA or 01. MRAD. The elevation turret is especially user-friendly since it has an external rotation indicator. Windage and elevation adjustment is made easier than ever with a single-set screw. In addition to the easy handling, the advanced L-Tec+ zeroing mechanism amazes with precision. Zero can be set between clicks.
Model measurements
Optics
- 56mm anti-glare lens
- HD optical system ➞ great color fidelity and sharp contrast
- reduced chromatic aberration
The glass quality is the second major upgrade of Razor III series. Despite its sheer size, the multicoated 56mm lens won’t easily expose the shooter’s position thanks to the anti-glare matte surface.
89mm of eye relief guarantee comfortable viewing longer, on all magnifications.
EBR-7D Reticle
- first focal plane
- ranging EBR-7D reticle ➞ MOA & MRAD
- glass-etched reticle
- 10 levels of cross-plex illumination
The EBR-7D reticle (available in MOA or MRAD) is placed between 2 layers of glass for extra protection and etched into the glass, so it won’t fade with use. This method also ensures faultless spacing of Christmas-tree holdover lines for ultimate accuracy. The EBR-7D design with a clean top half above .03 MRAD free-floating center dot and detailed subtensions in the lower half.
The side illumination dial has 10 intensity settings and OFF positions between each step.
