The Swarovski Z6i 1-6x24 riflescope is designed for driven hunts and offers an extremely wide field of view. With a magnification range from 1x to 6x and an objective lens diameter of 24mm, this scope is also suitable for practical shooting (IPSC).

Swarovski Z6i gen.2
The Swarovski Z6i series of riflescopes was first introduced in 2007. The second-generation upgrade came in 2013.
The Z6i riflescopes are reliable, and the housing is made of a one-piece, shockproof material that can withstand even the most powerful hunting calibers. The design is slim and compact with variable magnification (6 times zoom factor).
Some models in the Z6i series feature an adjustable parallax, while others have a fixed parallax at 100m. All Z6i scopes feature Swaroclean and Swarolight technologies. Swaroclean coating on the outer lenses protects against dirt, dust, insects, and so forth while the Swarolight system automatically turns reticle illumination on and off.
The Z6i series includes the following models:
- Swarovski Z6i gen.2 1.7-10x42
- Swarovski Z6i gen.2 1-6x24
- Swarovski Z6i gen.2 2-12x50
- Swarovski Z6i gen.2 2.5-15x44
- Swarovski Z6i gen.2 2.5-15x56
The two models--the 3-18x50 and 5-30x50 were available in the Z6i series. However, they were discontinued once the newer Z8i was released in 2020.

Physical properties of Z6i 1-6x24
The Swarovski Z6i 1-6x24 is still one of if not the best hunting scopes available, and as I mentioned before, it also does very well in practical shooting competitions. Out of all the models in the Z6i series, this scope is my favorite.
Measuring 30 centimeters, it is one of the longer options on the market and only weighs 460 grams.

Reticle
The reticle is positioned in the second focal plane. This produces the effect that the reticle appears to be the same size at all magnification settings. The reticle is very thin and illuminated. It is important to mention that the reticle is daytime bright.
Z6i 1-6x24 riflescope is available with three reticle options:
- 4-I reticle
- CD-I reticle
- LD-I reticle

Interested in Reticle LD-I?
The LD-I reticle is available only on models with the SR rail, while the CD-I reticle can be ordered only on models that don't have the SR rail. The 4-I reticle, however, is offered with both configurations.
Illumination system
The illumination is controlled with an eyepiece module which also carries a battery. The illumination system features a switch for two illumination regimes:
- daytime regime and
- low light regime.
The system also has two additional buttons for fine-tuning. With these buttons, the illumination intensity can be changed to adapt to different environments--from dimly lit settings all the way up to brightly lit daytime use.
This scope's illumination is superior to most others on the market. You can make it as bright or dim as you need, depending on the lighting conditions.
The position sensor is a feature that turns the scope off when it's tilted at an angle. The scope also automatically shuts off if it's pointing up or down, which helps save battery life.
The illumination system is quite efficient, as it's extremely quick and barely noticeable. It also has an auto-off feature that turns the entire scope off after a period of inactivity, conserving battery life.
Turrets
The turrets on the Z6i scope are designed for hunting and have a click value of one and a half centimeters per hundred meters. This click value is slightly bigger than on other Z6i scopes models, but the overall design of the turrets is very similar.

Standard hunting, low-profile turrets are made out of plastic. Turrets can be reset to zero by pulling them up; you'll hear a small click.
The windage turret is the same as the elevation turret, except for the fact that it also carries a spare battery for the illumination system.
Although I don't favor plastic turrets, it's not a make-or-break feature for me, particularly on a hunting scope. With wide-angle scopes like this one, you only have to zero them once before capping the turrets again. Reliable tracking is more important to me, and this scope can handle even the most powerful magnum calibers.
Parallax
Swarovski Z6i 1-6x24 features a fixed parallax. The parallax is fixed at 100 meters.
Optical performance
The Swarovski Z6i 1-6x24 has an impressive field of view for its class, 42.5 meters at 100 meters.
What's more, this riflescope is one of the few that makes it easy to aim with both eyes open. I don't think many scopes can compete with this Swarovski scope in terms of ease of use. The only scope that come close is Leica Magnus. Aiming with both eyes open is practically effortless and second nature when using this particular scope--it's almost in a class by itself.
Mounting solution
You have the option of ordering the Z6i 1-6x24 with either a 30-millimeter tube or a standard Swarovski SR rail. The former necessitates an SR rail mount to affix the scope to your rifle, while the latter requires 30mm scope mount rings for mounting.

The Swarovski Z6i 1-6x24 is a top-quality riflescope suitable for anyone who needs a reliable wide-angle scope. It's an ideal scope for driven hunts or practical shooting.
This riflescope is popular because it gives users a great experience when they use both eyes to aim. It feels natural to look through the scope with one eye while keeping the other on your surroundings, and this makes it very easy to use.
I mentioned before that, in my opinion, this is one of the best Swarovski riflescopes. It offers a wide field of view, real one-time magnification, and a high-quality build.
The scope features a sophisticated reticle illumination system, and it's hard to find anything wrong with it. It's almost perfect.
Pros summary:
- wide FOW
- can be used with both eyes open

Cons
There are a few downsides to this riflescope. The price may be a bit too high for some hunters. It's also a bit on the long side, which could make it difficult to mount on some rifles.
The design of the illumination system may not be to everyone's liking. 1-6x24 riflescope is also the only riflescope in the Z6i series that cannot be ordered with a BDC turret.
Cons summary:
- price
- length
- some users do not like the illumination system design
- no BDC turret option
