INTRODUCTION
The new eRanger 8 riflescopes from Steiner combine excellent optics and intuitive use in a compact design and set a new standard for 8x magnification riflescopes. Thanks to the short design, integrating modern clip-ons is not a problem, while military Steiner robustness ensures maximum reliability even under the most difficult conditions. Equipped with the Intelligent Hunting Solution (IHS), the eRanger 8 models provide all relevant information in real time. The integrated ballistics calculator with environmental sensors (air pressure, inclination) and the configurable display help the hunter to precisely determine the point of impact. A Bluetooth connection allows the display to be customized with a mobile app to best meet the user’s needs.

ASSEMBLY
The riflescope is mounted on the rifle with a 34 mm ring or block mount. We recommend a maximum torque of 2.5 Nm for installation. High-quality, robust steel rings and rails are recommended. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for installation.
SETTING THE SHARPNESS AND MAGNIFICATION
CAUTION: do not point the riflescope at the sun or bright light sources
- Point the riflescope at the sky or a bright wall and look into it. If the reticle appears sharp and high in contrast, no further adjustment is required. If necessary, turn the diopter adjustment ring until the reticle appears sharp.
- Set the riflescope to the desired magnification using the adjustment ring.
- Switch on the eRanger 8 by pressing the “M button” for 3 seconds
- Set the height tower to 0 and confirm the setting.
- . Connect the riflescope to your mobile phone via the Steiner Connect app.
- . Follow the instructions in the app and enter the ballistics data for your ammunition.
- Check the settings at a distance of 100 m.
- . Carry out test shots to check the settings.

SETTING THE LATERAL AND HEIGHT DEVIATION – ZEROING
The height and lateral settings can be individually zeroed. To do this, please loosen 2 screws.
- Set your riflescope at the desired distance (e.g. 100 m)
- Loosen the two adjusting screws on the cap for the height setting by half a turn using the Allen key provided. The cap can now be rotated without ratcheting.
- Turn the scale ring to “0”
- Tighten the adjusting screws. Remove the lateral setting cover cap by turning it anticlockwise. Carry out the lateral setting using the detent, pull up the scale and press down again in the detent at the 0 position.

ATTENTION: do not loosen the adjusting screws any further. Otherwise the tower may accidentally come off.
- Turn the scale ring to “0”.
- Tighten the adjusting screws.
MENU OVERVIEW

SETTING THE RETICLE ILLUMINATION
- Use the adjustment ring for the reticle illumination to set the desired illumination intensity.
- To switch off the reticle illumination, turn the adjustment ring to zero.

SETTING THE PARALLAX AND FOCUS
- Set the adjustment ring to the desired distance until a sharp image is achieved and your reticle is parallax-free.

The riflescope is parallax-free when the eye can be moved sideways or upwards or downwards without the reticle moving in relation to the target.
ACCESSORIES
Only use original STEINER accessories. STEINER offers a wide range of accessories. Riflescopes with 50 mm and 56 mm lenses allow the attachment of anti-reflection devices, sun shields, filters and other accessories.
CHANGING THE BATTERY FOR THE RETICLE ILLUMINATION
- Open and remove the battery compartment cover by turning it anticlockwise.
- Lift the battery at the “+ contact” and remove it. After taking out the battery, insert the new battery with the “- contact” first (see technical data).
- Screw the battery cover back on.

Top tip: the easiest way to change the battery is to carefully press on the positive pole of the battery and then simply remove it.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
The riflescope is maintenance-free apart from some external care and needing to replace the battery.
CAUTION The lenses of the riflescope can be damaged if not cleaned properly. Hold the riflescope so that loose dirt particles can fall off the lenses. Carefully remove any dirt particles stuck to the lenses with a soft
brush and blow the dirt particles off once loosened. If the lenses are extremely dirty, spray them with clear water or a lens cleaning agent and carefully remove dirt with a lens cloth.
