Introduction
Sightron introduced quite a few interesting products at IWA 2018. Along with the new spotting scopes, red dot sights, zero stop and the 45×45 model for benchrest shooting, Sightron introduced a model that will delight the tactical riflescope users – SV 4.5–24×56 FFP ED.
New features
The newly-introduced riflescope offers everything that a tactical riflescope should offer – a great zoom factor, locking turrets, an illuminated reticle, a modernly-designed reticle, a 34mm tube, plenty of elevation, a mechanical zero-stop, a mil-mil configuration etc. It also features the extra-low-dispersion glass which prevents chromatic aberration and increases the contrast of the image, allowing the user to see more details.
There are 11 illumination settings to choose from. Between each level, there is an off switch, allowing the user to quickly return to the optimal setting. The battery offers approx. 300 hours of service.
Conclusion
In the field of tactical riflescopes, Sightron is not renowned yet, which is why the SV 4.5–24×56 FFP probably won’t be as popular as the products of some tactically-oriented brands such as Vortex and Athlon. This is a pity – Sightron is known for great optics, and we believe that it will perform even better than some other, more popular riflescopes from the same price class. We are pleased that Sightron decided to enter the market of tactical riflescopes and hope that – in the future – they will be as popular among tactical shooters as they are among sport shooters. The riflescope will be available to purchase in Spring 2018.
