Battery life: 5:37 hours
With Pulsar Proton XQ30, the manufacturer states that the maximal battery life is 6 hours at 22°C. We tested the device, and our measured time was 5:37 hours.
We tested the device at 25.1 – 26.3°C, as you can see in the video. The temperature was approximately 3° C higher than the temperature that the manufacturer provides.
Please keep in mind that while testing the device, we did not use any functions. Using different functions (such as video recording, Wi-Fi, etc.) usually affects the battery, so we can expect that the battery life will be a little shorter in real-life situations.
We tested the device with the default settings, as it comes out of the box. As mentioned before, the Wi-Fi was turned off and all the other functions (such as color mode, brightness, and contrast) were left at the default setting.
For the Pulsar Proton XQ30, we used the APS 5 Li-ion Battery Pack that is included in the box. As the battery is removable, you can bring multiple batteries with you in the field. This is a very convenient feature, which makes this device a good option for longer hunts.
Need a spare battery?
This Pulsar device also has a Standby option, which can save your battery power. If you wish to enter the Standby mode, you must hold the on/off button until the countdown appears. Then release the button within the 3s countdown to active the standby mode. To exit the standby mode, short press the on/off button again.
To turn the Pulsar Proton XQ30 off, the user must hold the on/off button, wait until the countdown is complete, and the device turns off.
