Objective Thread | Optics Trade Debates

Welcome to Optics Trade debates. In each episode, we talk about a different topic and try to answer the most common questions we receive about it. Today, we are going to talk about the objective thread specification.

The objective thread is a thread that is on the interior of a riflescope objective. The thread is located in front of the lens.

Not all riflescopes have an objective thread. The inclusion of an objective thread is usually stated in the specification tables of riflescopes.

Objective threads are used for installing equipment on the objective like sunshades, flip-up covers, kill flashes

Most older scopes don’t feature an objective thread.

On our webpage, we usually only specify if a scope has or does not have an objective thread. If the manufacturers give us more data like the type of thread, we also publish it.

There are some accessories that don’t need a thread to be mounted because they’re placed on the outer side of the objective.

We would like to thank you for your time. In case we did not answer all the questions regarding this topic, please leave a comment below or send an e-mail to us. If you found this video useful, please subscribe to our channel.
