Our Observations
With Night Pearl Scops 25 ELITE, the user must push the on/off button and the manufacturer’s logo appears almost instantly. After some time, we get the image, and the Start up timer stops – at approximately 10.41 seconds. Next, an icon appears in the top right corner, and soon after the battery icon appears in the bottom left corner. That’s when the device is ready to be used (as it enables all features) and the second timer stops – at approximately 15.16 seconds.
When the screen first turns on, the device is unresponsive to the user’s actions. For that reason, we also measured the “ready to use time”, which is the period between the press of the on/off button and the point where the device starts responding to the user’s actions. When the battery icon appears, the device, along with all functions available, is ready to be used.
We pressed the “zoom” button to display the ready-to-use time. You can press the zoom button before the device is ready.
Night Pearl Scops 25 ELITE has a built-in battery, which means that you should always check the battery before going on the field, as you cannot simply change it.
The device is easy to handle, and the buttons are easy to press even if you are wearing gloves.
The device has a Standby option, which is a remarkably useful battery-saving feature. When you hold the on/off button, a countdown appears on the screen. If you release the on/off button before the time runs out, the screen turns off and the device enters the Standby mode. To use the device again, you simply press the on/off button.
If you wish to turn off the device, you simply hold the on/off button until the countdown is complete.
