Introduction
ATN BinoX HD binoculars were a true innovation when they hit the market in 2015. Now, 4 years later, ATN managed to present the newer version with a much better detection sensor, screen resolution, and many other unique features.
Features
The new ATN BinoX 4K 4-16x features a new ultra HD sensor with a resolution of 3864×2218 pixels for great image quality and true color fidelity. For comparison – the older model featured a sensor with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The new binos are also capable of filming full HD videos in 30, 60 or even 120 frames per second.
The specialty of these BinoX is the option to switch between the daytime mode and night vision mode. This can be done simply in the internal menu in just a matter of seconds. Also, the night vision mode has a great resolution just like the daytime mode, so you can use up to 10x magnification with no loss of the image quality. To maximize the night vision performance in complete darkness, you can additionally turn a built-in infrared illuminator on, which is now even stronger than in the older model.
To gain additional advancement, ATN managed to build a laser rangefinder inside the housing. This one is capable of measuring distances to targets up to 1000 yards (910 meters) away during the day and also in the night. The distance can then be automatically transferred to other ATN SMART HD devices via Bluetooth.
The BinoX has a slot for a Micro SD card, on which all your photos and videos are automatically saved. Thanks to the dual-core processor, the BinoX binoculars are capable of filming videos while also streaming live.
The interpupillary distance is also adjustable, so the BinoX will fit all users. Inside the device is a big Li-Ion battery, which delivers the energy for more than 15 hours of continuous use. If this isn’t enough, ATN offers an extended life battery kit in a form of a neck strap that includes 10.000 mAh of capacity. With such a capacity, another 15 hours or more are guaranteed.
The ATN BinoX 4K 4-16x feature many different sensors like 3D Accelerometer, 3D Gyroscope, 3D Magnetometer, E-Barometer, and an E-Compass.
Conclusion
The improvements compared to the older BinoX model are huge. The price is also higher – the MSRP in the US should be 899$. The warranty period is 2 years, and with 1.12 kg, the BinoX are (2.5 lb) quite heavy. However, you get a device with many sensors, an infrared illuminator and a laser rangefinder.
