During my visit to Shot Show 2019 in Las Vegas, I stopped at Meprolight’s booth, eager to check out their new products. I was shown three new devices:
- Meprolight Mepro Foresight, an ‘augmented reality’ sight, as they call it. This robust reflex sight projects plenty of information on the screen, including a digital compass and active leveler. The user can connect the device via to an Android or iOS phone via Bluetooth, and then use a mobile app to manipulate with settings. The display is programmable, so the additional information on it can be switched off. An article about Foresight is available here.
- Mepro NYX-200, an innovative multispectral thermal weapon sight with day/night channel – it can be used either as a weapon sight or as a hand-held device (monocular). It is durable and robust, made in compliance with the severest military standards (MIL-810). The microbolometer has a sensor with a resolution of 640×480; pixel size is 17μ. The display boasts the same resolution. The device is powered by 4 AA lithium batteries which provide up to 7 hours of battery life. The focus can be set from 5 m to infinity.
- Mepro MicroRDS – a red dot with an innovative quick release mechanism that is attached to TruDot™ sights. A clever solution something that no other manufacturer has done before. The sight is small (46 mm x 33 mm x 26 mm, 66 grams), compact and rugged – because of this, it is a great choice for handguns and rifles. Click here to check out our article on it.
