Leupold RBX-3000, Leupold LTO Tracker 2, Leupold Mark 5 HD 7-35×56, Leupold Freedom red dot sight (Shot Show 2019)

Leupold is a manufacturer of all kinds of sports optics. They are well established, especially on the American market. On Shot Show, I visited their booth to look at what they have to offer on the topic of new products.

New Leupold RBX-3000 laser rangefinding binoculars

Leupold RBX-3000

Leupold introduced an amazing laser range finding binocular called RBX-3000. This binocular can measure reflective targets up to 3000 yards with an amazing accuracy of 0.5 %. It features many different sensors that are very important for long-range shooting – temperature, air pressure, humidity, and angle. The LRF binocular comes only in one configuration, 10×42. With this configuration, the binoculars are designed mainly for daytime use, but thanks to the bigger magnification, you can be precise when measuring the distance. Unfortunately, these great binos will be available only in the US.

Another interesting product Leupold presented was their new red dot that is specifically designed for a .223 Remington caliber weapon, which shoots a 55-grain FMJ bullet at 3100 FPS. The elevation turret clicks are in ¼ MOA, and it has marks for different distances for the mentioned projectile. The new red dot is very small and fits perfectly on an AR-platform rifle.

In the world of thermal optics, Leupold also had some new products. They introduced two new models of the 3rd generation of their well-known LTO Tracker. They are very similar since both feature their new technology, named Beacon Mode. This new mode helps the user find the downed animal quicker since it recalibrates to the warmest object, which makes the detection in a hot environment much easier. It also rebalances all the bright colors down to grayscale, until it detects the warmest spot. This new technology is available in both new devices – LTO Tracker 2 and LTO Tracker 2 HD. The difference between these two devices is in the sensor resolution and in the screen resolution;

the LTO Tracker 2 features a user dimmable display with a 204×204 pixel screen resolution and a 206×156 pixel thermal sensor.
The LTO Tracker 2 HD has also a user dimmable display, but with 390×390 pixel full-circle display and a 320×240 pixel thermal sensor.

And at last, for me the most interesting optic from Leupold – the new Leupold Mark 5 HD 7-35×56. This rifle scope has the highest magnification in the Mark 5 HD family, and like the two smaller models, it features a lot of elevation and windage adjustment thanks to the big 35-millimeter main tube. Both turrets feature a zero stop and a locking mechanism. The elevation turret also has a turn indicator and a multi-turn design, with maximal 3 whole turns. In one turn the elevation changes for exact 10 MIL. The parallax is adjustable, and the reticle is, like in other Mark 5 HD models, positioned in the first focal plane. What is also interesting is the small weight – the Mark 5 HD 7-35×56 weighs only 935 grams (33 ounces), and Leupold claims that all Mark 5 HD rifle scopes are the lightest in the same class against the competitors.

All Leupold Mark 5 rifle scopes were till now available only in MIL configurations, but now Leupold announced that all rifle scopes from this series will be available also in MOA configurations.

Leupold introduced 4 very well-made products that will surely be popular on the market. Since ELR and PRS shooting is getting more and more popular in the last years, I think that especially the new Mark 5 HD 7-25×56 rifle scope will gain great popularity.
