MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE

HOW TO CLEAN THE LENS

Always keep the lens surface clean. Dust, stains or finger prints will greatly reduce the sharpness of image, and may also cause fungus growth during storage.

If the external lens surface becomes dusty or smeared, first blow off with commercially available blower brush to prevent scratching when wiping the lens.

Prepare liquid lens cleaner available at any camera shop and well-washed soft cloth or tissue paper.

Moisten the cloth or tissue paper with a few drops of lens cleaner. Wipe the lens surface gently with a circular motion from center to edge. If the first wipe is not enough, repeat wiping with new face of the cloth or tissue paper until the lens is clean. You can judge whether the lens is clean or not by examining the lens under light at an oblique angle.

HOW TO CLEAN THE BODY

Dirt on the scope body may be removed with a soft cloth moistened with warm water and a few drops of mild detergent. Silicone cloth is suitable for this purpose, but DO NOT use it to wipe the lens.

STORAGE

In storing, or after using under dusty or humid conditions such as in rain or at the seaside, clean the scope by carefully following the aforementioned procedure and dry it in a room. Replace the caps on the scope put it into a vinyl bag with desiccant and store in a dry place.
