Our Observations
With InfiRay CML25, the manufacturer states that the battery life is 4 hours. We tested the device, and our measured time was 2:30 hours.
We tested the device at 23.8 – 24.4°C, as you can see in the video. This is a similar temperature to the one that is usually used for testing the battery life of thermal devices.
Please keep in mind that while testing the device, we were not using any functions. Using different functions (such as video recording, Wi-Fi, etc.) usually affects the battery, so we can expect that the battery life would be a bit shorter in real-life situations.
We tested the device with the default settings.
For the Infiray CML25, we used the generic insertable batteries, from the Panasonic brand. The device supports 3V disposable batteries, and 3.7V rechargeable batteries (16340 or 16650 type). For this testing, we used the Panasonic CR123, 3V batteries. Please note that the results might vary if you use different ones.
As the battery is removable, you can bring multiple batteries with you in the field. This is a very convenient feature, which makes this device a good option for longer hunts.

Infiray CML25 also has a Standby option, which is a remarkably useful battery-saving feature. You must rotate the button to access the Standby mode.
To turn the Infiray CML25 off, the user must hold the on/off button, and wait until the device turns off.
