GSCI or General Starlight Company Inc. is a Canadian company which develops and produces high-quality night vision devices, thermal imaging devices, and since recently also fusion devices. At their booth at IWA Outdoors Classics 2019, GSCI presented their new fusion device, the Quadro-S.
The GSCI Quadro-S is a device which combines visible, near-infrared (night vision) and far-infrared (thermal) channels individually in a single package. The fusion image is displayed in real-time with no delay, which is perfect for observation or hunting a moving animal. The user can change the image between fusion mode, night-vision only or thermal vision only. Thanks to the fusion mode, all details can be displayed and detected.

The GSCI Quadro-S is the first fusion monocular on the market, which can be mounted also in front of a daytime scope, or even directly on the weapon to be used as a targeting scope. The Quadro-S has a wide field of view with 31x23 meters, and the calibration works automatically without freezing the image.

The optical zoom of this device is 1.4x, but the image can be zoomed also digitally 2 or 4 times. The detection range of a Moose-sized animal is up to 1160 meters, and vehicles can be detected all the way up to 1570 meters.
The thermal sensor has a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels, and the pixel pitch is 17 micrometers. The day/night channel has a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels and has a sensitivity up to 0.1 Lux. In the fusion mode, the heat signature can be adjusted from 0 to 100 %. The display is an AMOLED type with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels.

The device is operated with 4 AA batteries, but various external power sources can also be used. With one battery pack of 4 AA batteries, the device can operate up to 7 hours continuously. The housing is made of hard-anodized aluminum for great strength and durability, and the device weighs 750 grams.
