The D400 DNS is somehow a unique digital day/night monocular – from the outside it looks almost the same as an analog device. On the objective is a big, 50-millimeters lens for a bright picture in very dark areas, and the 752 x 576 pixels sensor offers a great quality picture.

The display has a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and it is of an OLED type, so it works great even in extremely cold temperatures. The optical magnification of the device is 1.65x, and Dipol recommends the magnification of a daytime optic from 2x to 6x.

The detection range of this device is up to 450 meters, and after turning the device on, it needs only 5 seconds of startup time. For operating, 2 CR123A batteries are needed. An external battery can also be connected. With 2 CR123A batteries, the device can operate up to 4 hours at a temperature of 20 degrees Celsius.

With dimensions of 156 x 86 x 67 millimeters, D400 DNS is in the compact zone. It weighs 570 grams, which is quite light for this type of device.
