Aimpoint Hunter H30 vs. Aimpoint 9000 | Optics Trade Debates

Welcome to Optics Trade debates. In each episode, we talk about a different topic and try to answer the most common questions we receive about it. Today, we are going to talk about the differences between the Aimpoint Hunter H30 and the Aimpoint 9000.

The Aimpoint 9000 and the Aimpoint Hunter H30 are very similar. The H30 is the newer generation of full-length tube red dots from Aimpoint.

The H30 has a window that’s a little bit bigger than on the 9000, even though both devices have a 30 mm tube. The definition of the dot is superior on the Hunter models and is easier to use with both eyes open.

The 9000 models are a lot shorter than their H30 counterparts. The mounting lengths are practically the same but the objective part is a lot longer on the H30.

The compared models use different types of batteries. The 9000 uses a 2L76 or DL1/3N type battery and the H30 uses a more standard CR2032 type. The battery life is the same on both devices, about 50,000 h on intensity level 7.

The H30 (12) has two more intensity levels than the 9000 (10).

Long and short models are priced the same with 9000 and the H30. But the H30 is more expensive at around 800 € in comparison to about 600 € with the 9000.

In terms of aesthetics, the H30 has a modern look, while the 9000 looks more traditionally.

We would recommend the H30 to people who are looking for top class optics and the 9000 to people that are on a budget or want to save some money.
