Delta Optical Titanium HD 4–24×50

Introduction

Delta has prepared quite a few novelties for 2019. At IWA 2019, we visited their booth to check them out. They showed us their new red dot sight Micro HD 25, Titanium HD 8×42 and 10×42 binoculars, a new generation of Strykers HD, and Titanium HD 4–24×50 riflescope. In this article, we will pay attention to the latter.

Titanium HD is one of the most successful riflescope series and one of the greatest buys for hunting in the price class from 700 € to 1000 €. Other manufacturers have difficulties achieving the same optical quality at this price point, which is why this Japanese made series has plenty of followers. The most popular model is probably their 2.5–15×56, a great choice for hunting in the dusk.

With 4–24×50, Delta listened to those who were asking for a hunting riflescope with higher magnification to pull off shots at long distances. A high magnification such as the one on this scope is also useful for thorough game inspection. Because of the 50mm objective lens, the riflescope is still compact enough to be used in other hunting situations such as hunting in the mountains or stalking.

Delta Optical entrusted us with something else – some of the models will feature an interchangeable elevation turret. They haven’t told us which models will be available with such turret, but 4–24×50 is going to be among them. The mechanism is still in beta version. The goal is to allow the user to switch between a standard low and a high turret for long-range shots.

The parallax adjustment on the new model works nicely, allowing the user to set it from 10 m to infinity. What we really liked is the travel of the parallax turret – some other models, Strykers included, have a problem with the parallax setting because of the short travel of the turret. By making the travel longer, Delta has once again shown that they care for the requests of their customers. The illumination is located on the same turret as parallax.

Just like other riflescopes from the Titanium series, the new model can withstand 6500 J of shock. In other words, there shouldn’t be any problems with mounting it on a .375 H&H rifle. 6 models will be available, the differences being in the reticle, click value and interchangeable turret feature. The MOA-models will offer 100 MOA of elevation, while there will be 34 Mils of elevation at one’s disposal on MIL-models.

Conclusion

4–24×50 is a nice addition to the extremely successful Titanium HD series of riflescopes. The scope, which is expected to retail at around 800 €, will be available in Spring 2019. It will be covered by 10 years of warranty. The interchangeable turret feature might come a little bit later in the year.
