Battery life: 10:06 hours

ATN OTS-XLT 160 2-8x
This time, we put the ATN OTS-XLT 160 2-8x to the test. The battery life that the manufacturer provides is approximately 10 hours, and our measurement was 10:06 hours.
We tested the ATN monocular at 24.6 – 26.2°C, as you can see in the video. This is close to the temperature that is usually used for testing.
Please keep in mind that the battery life of all tested thermal devices will probably be a little shorter in real-life situations. This is because we didn’t use any functions while testing the devices. Using different functions (such as video recording, Wi-Fi, etc.) usually affects the battery.
We tested the device with the default settings, as it comes out of the box, to assure the same conditions apply to every device. If you would like to know more about our testing process and conditions, read our Real Battery Life of Thermal Devices blog post, where you can also find a comparison list of all the tested devices, which we update regularly.
You can charge the device with a Type-C charger, which is included in the box. When it is charging, you can see the red light and when it is fully charged, that light turns green.
As the manufacturer states, ATN OTS-XLT 160 2-8x has a built-in battery, so you should make sure that the device is charged before going on the field. In case the battery runs out, you cannot change it.
ATN OTS-XLT 160 2-8x has a Standby option, which is a remarkably useful battery-saving feature. With the press of the on/off button, the screen turns off and the device enters Standby mode. To use the device again, you simply hold the on/off button.
