Holosun Infiniti HS401 vs. HS502 Models | Optics Trade Debates

  • Polona

Hello and welcome to another Optics Trade Debates video. At the moment, the main focus of these debates is explaining the differences between individual Holosun red dot models. This particular debate will compare Infiniti HS401 models with those in the HS502 model family. Let’s begin.

As far as the form factor is concerned, there is little deviation from one model family to another. They have the same aluminium housing and the same integrated mount with a height that is suitable for AR platforms.

Both model families offer 12 illumination intensity levels to choose from, 2 of which are NVD compatible. The battery life in both is said to be 50.000 hours.

Another characteristic that the HS401 and HS502 models have in common is the Shake Awake function. When left powered on, the device will go from ‘active mode’ to ‘sleep mode’ after a while to prevent unnecessary battery drain. Once moved, it will power back on immediately.

The main difference is that the HS201 models (so either the HS401G5 or the HS401R5 model) feature a built-in laser pointer. Specifically, the laser pointer is integrated in the tubular part of the device, where the compartment storing the CR2032 battery is also located.

The HS502 model family, on the other hand, features a battery tray and doesn’t have a laser. But the clear advantage of the HS502 models is that they offer the multi-reticle feature. That means that the user can make a switch from the standard 2 MOA red dot to the circle dot (a 2 MOA dot with a 65 MOA circle around it).

The next major difference between the HS401 and the HS502 model families is that the latter features solar panels on all devices. With sufficient light available, HS502 models can be used without a battery.

That should cover it. Thank you for your attention. Please like and share this video if you found it informative. Subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content and we’ll see you next time!
