Rusan Pivot Mount without Bases for Zastava M70, Mauser 98/48, 30 mm

• Pivot quick-release design: the mount swings into position and locks securely, making it practical for hunters who want to remove the scope for transport or maintenance and refit it with a repeatable mounting system.
• 30 mm scope fit: built for optics with a 30 mm main tube, this version suits many modern hunting riflescopes while keeping the installation matched to the tube size rather than relying on reducers or improvised solutions.
• Without bases configuration: supplied as the upper pivot-mount assembly only, it is intended for rifles that already use compatible pivot bases, which is useful when replacing worn upper parts or changing to a different optic tube size.
• Steel construction: the steel build supports long-term rigidity and wear resistance, helping the mount hold alignment under regular field use and repeated attachment cycles.
• Model-specific compatibility: designed for Zastava M70 and Mauser 98/48 pattern rifles without the bulb, it follows the geometry of these actions for a more correct fit than generic mounting solutions.

About the Rusan Pivot Mounts Series

Rusan Pivot Mounts are part of the company’s dedicated line of firearm optics mounts, developed for shooters who want a removable mounting system without giving up a precise, rifle-specific fit. The series covers a wide range of rifle makes and models, including classic sporting and hunting actions, and it is offered in several configurations to suit different optic interfaces and mounting needs. Within the range, Rusan lists versions for 11 mm prisms, Picatinny rails, and traditional ring-mounted scopes, along with complete mounts and variants sold without bases.

A defining characteristic of the series is its steel construction and quick-release fixation. In practice, that makes these mounts relevant for hunters and traditional rifle users who may remove an optic for transport, switch between sighting systems, or simply prefer a detachable setup on a classic bolt-action rifle. The series also spans multiple ring diameters, including 26 (25.4), 30, 34, 36, and 40 mm, so the platform can be matched to a broad selection of riflescopes. Across the line, the design philosophy is straightforward: a secure pivoting attachment, model-specific fit, and a mechanical layout intended for repeatable use in the field.

About the Rusan Pivot Mount without Bases for Zastava M70, Mauser 98/48, 30 mm

The Rusan Pivot Mount without Bases for Zastava M70, Mauser 98/48, 30 mm is built for shooters using a classic Mauser-pattern hunting rifle and a riflescope with a 30 mm tube. Its role is specific: it provides the upper pivot-mount assembly for rifles already equipped with compatible pivot bases, making it a practical choice when updating an existing setup rather than replacing the whole mounting system. That is especially useful on rifles such as the Zastava M70 and Mauser 98/48, where owners often want to preserve an established base arrangement while changing optics.

The pivot layout supports fast removal and reattachment, which matters in real use when a rifle must be packed compactly, cleaned thoroughly, or adapted for a different sighting arrangement. Because this version is made as a quick-release steel mount, it focuses on mechanical stability and repeatable handling rather than unnecessary complexity. The black finish keeps the appearance subdued and appropriate for a hunting rifle, while the steel body is better suited to repeated locking cycles than lighter but less durable alternatives in this type of application.

Its model-specific geometry is equally important. A mount made for the Zastava M70 / Mauser 98, 48 (without bulb) interface is intended to match the action pattern correctly, which helps avoid the compromises that can come with universal mounts. For a traditional sporting rifle, that means a cleaner installation, dependable scope support, and a detachable system that remains consistent in everyday field use.

About Rusan

Rusan-Mikron is a Croatian manufacturer based in Marija Bistrica, Croatia, with roots in the Rusan family’s metalworking business dating back to 1983. Željko Rusan opened a gunsmith shop in 1986, and the company began producing scope mounts in 1993. That background is important because it places Rusan firmly in the tradition of practical firearms engineering rather than general accessory manufacturing.

Today, the company focuses on scope mounts, scope rings, Picatinny rails, and firearm tuning products, along with adapter systems for clip-on night-vision and thermal devices. Rusan also became well known for its adapter clamp for clip-on sights, introduced in 2009, which helped expand its reputation beyond conventional mounting hardware. In this product category, the brand is best understood as a specialist in rifle-specific mounting solutions designed around fit, repeatable attachment, and compatibility with both classic sporting rifles and modern optical equipment.
